Financial Assistance
At Putnam Christian Outreach, we believe that a hard season shouldn't mean going without the basics. Our Neighbor Assistance program exists for people in Putnam and Greene County who need a hand — no judgment, just help.
Neighbor Assistance hours: Every Wednesday, 9:00 – 11:00 am Up to $350 per year, per household.
Please don't wait until your bills are due. Come to us at least two weeks ahead if possible.
Clothing Assistance
If you've found yourself in a difficult situation, newly homeless, displaced, or simply without enough, you're welcome to come in and choose clothing for yourself and your dependents, free of charge. We see people from all walks of life come through our doors, and if you can't pay for it, we're going to make sure you're clothed.
Prescription Medicines
When a neighbor can't afford their medicine, we do our best to help cover the cost. We can't always make it work, some medications are beyond what our budget allows, but we try. Come see us on a Wednesday and we'll talk through what's possible.
Medical Library
Our Medical Library is a free resource for any neighbor who needs it. The room is stocked with medical devices and equipment available to borrow at no charge. We simply ask that when you no longer need an item, you return it so someone else can use it.
Local Disaster Relief
When disaster strikes our community, we show up. We coordinate with local churches and organizations to provide food and essential items to those affected. We don't do this alone, it's a community effort, and we're proud to be part of it.
Ready to get help?
Come see us any Wednesday from 9:00 – 11:00 am, or reach out ahead of time.
Food Assistance
USDA Food Program — Once a month (the 3rd Monday, except November when we shift to the Monday before Thanksgiving), qualified neighbors can pick up food through our USDA program. This runs from 8:00 – 10:30 am and requires a one-time application.
Donated Food — Available Any Day — Every day we have donated food available for anyone who walks through our door and needs it. Food comes to us from local churches, organizations, and retail partners throughout the community. (Note for review: Stacy, this is where we'd mention the retail assistance program — Walmart, Dollar General, the meat lockers — but keeping it brief per your preference. Please confirm the wording before this goes live.)
